11 vs 14 Inch Pull-Out Organizers

Three extra inches only exist if the opening is actually that wide.

Comparison guide

A tape measure across a cabinet door opening
Illustration. Measure the clear opening with the door open, at the narrowest point.
Quick comparison: Choose an 11-inch pull-out when the opening is tight, framed, or close to pipes and hinges. Choose 14 inches only after you have measured a clear opening wider than that, including the slide.

The opening, not the cabinet label

Tape across a narrower cabinet opening
A tight opening. The narrower pull-out is the one that can pass the frame and the hinge.
Tape across a wider cabinet opening
A wider opening. The larger pull-out still has to slide out without hitting a pipe.

How to measure

What not to do

Do not order from the outside width of the cabinet. The pull-out vs two-tier page is the other decision, after the opening is known.
