Storage Tote Size Guide
A larger tote is worse if you cannot lift it or get it through the doorway.
Quick method: Put hardware, cords, and small parts in a small bin. Use a medium bin for clothes and linens you can carry. A large tote, including a common 27-gallon size, is for bulky gear only if the full bin still lifts and fits the shelf.

How to choose
- Measure the shelf opening and the stairs before the tote.
- One category per bin.
- If the full bin has to go above your shoulders, split it.
What not to do
Do not pack clothes that are still damp. That step is in storing seasonal clothes.
